A catechist is an instrument used by God to spread and teach the basic principles of Christianity. This is an enculturation to the the people that we are born as Catholics and should live through the footprints of our Savior, Jesus Christ. A person will be so blessed if he is given this kind of mission as catechist. He will be able to get closer to God and bring people nearer to His Kingdom. Haven't you think about the most unique experience of a young marian catechist?
Proud to say, "I am a young marian catechist". At first, It was so tiring to go every Tuesday in Dalagute Central Elementary School to hold catechism for Gr. 1 pupils. As we all know Gr. 1 pupils are so "makulit" and I can't really paint myself to be with them. It was so hard to go with their flow and act like kids with patience. I wanted to cry but as I go on my way, they were able to get spaces in my heart. One thing that touched me most was when I met a twin and tought them how to perform the Sign of the Cross. It brought my blood out of my veins and only then when I realize that this is a mission and I am send by God as an instrument to spread the teachings of the Church to the generations. I am so happy that from darkness, I was brought to life!
Being a molderer in this young age is a very challenging task. It is a great chance for us to share and express the godly things that we've learned as a senior student of a marian institution. The things that we've tought will surely be stored in the minds of the pupils and will be brought forever as they go on their lives. Yes, this could be so hard and stressful but we can get good harvest from it. They will be part of our journey and of course we will be given spaces in their hearts as they continue their way.
